A bike trip from Delhi to Jaipur is a lot of fun. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan and is widely known as the Pink City. This is owing to the fact that the city was painted Pink to welcome the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria. Jaipur is approximately 280 kilometres away, and the journey takes about 5 hours to complete, via the National Highway 48.

Delhi, Jaipur and Agra are three of the most popular destinations in India. The Golden Triangle, as it is more popularly known, attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. Rich history, great architecture and excellent connectivity between these landmark cities, make them a massive hit among tourists.

Jaipur is popular among travelers for all the forts in and around the city. They specifically include the Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort. Jaipur also has other widely popular monuments like The City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. The latter is a famous open air observatory.

Planning the ride to Jaipur

An important part of prepping for the ride is following all the safety measures. Ensure your riding gear is in place. Always have a visible and fitting helmet, riding jacket and shoes that are comfortable. Take all the necessary safety measures for a safe journey.

Before embarking on a road trip, it’s crucial to check your bike for any servicing that may be required. Check your bike for oil leakages, fill up the tank to have enough fuel for the journey and check the tire pressure too. Getting PUC done before a bike ride is the right thing to do.

In case you are renting a bike, it’s important to follow the same procedure and check the bike properly. This would help you reduce the chances of any unforeseen hindrances on your bike trip to Jaipur.

The best time to embark on a bike trip to Jaipur is definitely in the winters from October to March. The weather is really pleasant, which makes the road trip, the visits to the fort, and in general the exploration of the pink city a lot more enjoyable.

While Jaipur is just 5 hours away, the city has a lot to offer. It actually makes sense to spend one or two nights in Jaipur to make the most of this royal city and its surroundings. Spending a couple of nights in Jaipur means you are not riding your bike in broad daylight. Which means you’ll have greater visibility, as opposed to riding when it’s too foggy or dark.

The other advantage of this is to split the long rides over 3 days. The first day after you reach Jaipur, you can relax and stretch your legs a bit and indulge in some light exploration of the Pink city. The next day you can explore all the forts and the sights around Jaipur. Day 3 is to wake up, have breakfast and drive back to Delhi with memories of an excellent weekend trip to Jaipur.
